Why Poland?
Poland has impressed the world! It was the only country to resist the economic crisis suffered by all other European economies in 2009. The power of Western investments supported its economic structure and allowed it to avoid recession.
The sustainable economic policy and safe banking system resulted in a rapid increase of net export, growing consumption and intensified investments in infrastructure, while the flexible labour market prevented from sudden growth of unemployment. As a result, Poland experienced a 1.4% growth of GNP in Q2 2009, the only positive result among all European countries. In this light Poland appears to be a lonely, proud “green island” that has experienced positive economic growth, unlike any other European country.
